Total twisting of the facts. And, like I heard someone else say one time, none of us are getting out of this thing alive! All I can say is that if the money that was spent on fighting smoking was spent on creating new jobs, etc., our economy would be in much, much better shape.

I didn't get it either - earlier in the article is actually said that the portion of care paid out of pocket by the insured had decreased significantly. Perhaps the costs they are concerned about are the ever increasing cost for medical insurance. Don't know.

Cancer is a big money maker for the medical industry. I really believe that many breast cancer patients do not escape death - they just die later from some other form of cancer.

I have researched mortality statistics for quite a number of years. Smoking is down, lung cancer mortality rates are close to the same. Why? Gastro-intestinal mortality cancer rates are right behind lung cancer mortality rates and will surpass them within the next 5 to ten years.

Please be aware also that in the state of Illinois, if an individual runs a business out of their "home", they are under the constraints of the smoking ban. It doesn't matter if you only run an office out of your home or not.
